REMOVING THE MYSTERY: DAMAGES IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DISPUTES

Thursday September 10, 2009 8:30 AM

Over the past few years, courts have made significant awards regarding infringement and misappropriation of intellectual property. It is critical for clients and attorneys alike to understand the size of such awards and the methods by which such damages are calculated. Such understanding will allow for informed decision making in connection with both pre-litigation and litigation issues regarding intellectual property. This webinar will address the types of damages available in intellectual property disputes, including those involving trademarks, copyrights, patents and trade secrets, and a broad discussion of the calculation of damages and the types and size of recent awards. Mary A. Woodford of Cornerstone Research and Michele Riley of Invotex will speak on these critical issues.

The MSBA Intellectual Property Section will be hosting a WEBINAR on this topic on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. To participate in this webinar, please register at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/753306697.
